Medical marijuana is legal in Pennsylvania.
Medical marijuana became legal in 2016, along with a system for regulating medical marijuana dispensaries. At first only non-smokable forms of marijuana could be sold for medical purposes, but this restriction was removed in 2018.
Recreational marijuana is not legal in Pennsylvania.
Possessing marijuana has been somewhat decriminalized in some parts of Pennsylvania, but not state-wide.
Recreational marijuana legalization efforts are ongoing in Pennsylvania. House Bill 2050, introduced in February 2020, is one example.
